I had not heard of this yacht before and there is not much information available on the internet. One year ago, the yacht briefly left her building shed, when the yacht was moved into a different part of the yard, where the yacht's bow section was attached. The French Bureau d'enquetes sur les événements de Mer, also known as BEAmer, has confirmed that the report on the sinking of superyacht Yogi, will be published by the end of the week or early next week. The photos were taken in the Gocek (Turkey) area in May 2010 and the motor yacht is flagged in Turkey and registered in Marmaris. The 82.6 metre Talitha was designed in 1927 by the distinguished naval architects Cox & Stevens, who were considered the leading yacht designers of their day. Fire at McMullen & Wing causes significant damage to 50 metre Star Fish.

In the early hours of Sunday morning 12 August 2012, fire fighters were called to McMullen & Wing’s premises in Auckland New Zealand to find the 50 metre steel/aluminium motor yacht Star Fish ablaze in the shipyard’s largest construction hall. Star Fish, under construction for Aquos Yachts, is the successor to Big Fish. Read More

Ilona was built in 2004 at the Amels yard in Makkum, Holland, to a design by Redman Whitely Dixon. When she was launched, she measured 73.7 metres, and was the first large motoryacht to have a helicopter hangar in the main aft deck. It provided a safe storage space for the delicate helicopter. Indian Empress is a 95 metre Oceanco, built in 2000 to a design of The A Group. She was launched as Al Mirqab, one of the yachts owned by the Qatar royal family. Superyacht 360° on fire in port of Nice

Firefighters in Nice have responded to a fire on board the 2003 built superyacht 360°. The fire seems to have damaged the bridge deck of the 47 metre yacht. The yacht is docked on the east side of the port, and dozens of firefighters are at the scene. Local reports confirm that the mayor of Nice is also at the scene of the fire. Read More

Statement by Burgess on sinking of superyacht Yogi

Burgess confirms, with regret, reports that the 60 metre motor yacht Yogi sank 19 nautical miles off the Island of Skyros on Friday morning 17 February. All 8 crew were safely rescued and there was no loss of life. No passengers were on board the yacht at the time of the incident. The cause of the sinking has not been identified and confirmed. Superyacht Yogi sinks in Greece

The 60.20 metre Yogi, built in 2011, has sank to the East off the coast of Skyros in Greece, in bad weather. All on board were evacuated from the yacht by rescue helicopters. The ABS classed superyacht had a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and complied with the MCA LY2. She was twin 1,750hp Caterpillar 3512B diesel engines. Read More

Photo of the 67 metre Destriero in Germany

Once the world's fastest vessel to cross the Atlantic, the 67 metre Destriero nowadays seems to have lost her grace, laid up in Germany, where one of our readers recently took this photo of her. Videos: Seven yachts destroyed in Alimos Marina fire

Seven yachts, including at least one superyacht, the 31.5 metre Gioe, as well as an older model Admiral in the 30 metre region, were destroyed in a raging fire last friday in Alimos Marina in Greece. A local newspaper reports that the fire is being treated as arson by police. No injuries were reported. Read More

The 50 metre project P305 was launched a few years ago at Devonport, but the yacht went back into the yard to be completed. This rare video of her was made last summer, and shows the yacht is once again back out on the water. The yacht is named Alamshar, and she is a top secret project. Dhow superyacht Shamek in Porto Arabia - The Pearl, Qatar

One of our regular readers sent us a photo of a rather unusual superyacht seen in Porto Arabia – The Pearl, Qatar last week. The superyacht is called Shamek and she was converted from a traditional wooden dhow into a luxury motor yacht. It appears that the yacht was converted at the Al Jadaf Drydock in Dubai around 2005. Philippine presidential superyacht refurbished and renamed

One of the most rarely seen superyachts is the 77.33 metre Pag-Asa, the Philippine presidential yacht. The motor yacht was built by Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries in Tokyo, Japan in 1959 as Lapu-Lapu. Throughout her life the superyacht has served several different presidents and before being named Pag-Asa in 2009. Read More

Fire destroys superyacht SunChaser

According to local news sources, the 38.10 metre Chistensen superyacht SunChaser was destroyed by a fire during refit work, being carried out at the shipyard Boustead Yachts in Langkawi (BYL) in Bukit Malut. 53 Firefighters were on site after an emergency call came in at around 8 pm on the 11th of October. Read More

Fire destroys superyacht Godspeed

On August 8th, a fire broke out on superyacht Godspeed, off the coast of Santa Teresa di Riva, a small town in the province of Messina, Sicily, about 15 kilometers (9 miles) from Taormina. Godspeed is a 2005 Westport 130. Details are still unknown, but the video's show that the yacht can be considered a total-loss. Read More

Superyacht intentionally runs aground to prevent sinking

Last week, superyacht Antalis narrowly escaped disaster in Greece, and we now receive news about another narrow miss, this time in the US. A Superyacht hit a rock some 100 metres off Nobska Beach near Woods Hole, Mass., on friday. Superyacht Antalis narrowly escaped disaster in the Bay of Aegiali on July 3rd, 2011 in the late afternoon. The vessel was anchored close to Levrossos beach, when she took on water through her stern doors, causing the yacht to list heavily to port. Bannenberg designed superyacht Acajou rebuilt as Sureyya

Last year, whilst on charter in Turkey, I cruised passed an unknown yacht near Göcek. The yacht's name, Sureyya, did not appear in any of our files, and the design did not look familiar. After lengthy investigation, we now strongly believe the yacht is the former Acajou, which was badly damaged in 2005, during a heavy storm in Greece. Read More

Radiant was recently photographed in Germany, when passing through the Kiel Canal, as well as in Hamburg. Superyacht Pari on the rocks off Cap Ferrat

At around 04:30 saturday morning, strong winds caused Pari to drag anchor off Cap Ferrat, pushing her up against the rocks. Eight people were on the yacht when the incident occured, seven of them have been rescued off the yacht by French authorities.
