Ariadne Yacht Management has been officially certified according to International Safety Management (ISM) standards. Following a detailed audit carried out by the Isle of Man Flag State Administration, the company received its new Document of Compliance (DoC); the second in the history of Ariadne Yacht Management Ltd; on the 24th June 2008. Ariadne also holds an ISM Document of Compliance for the Bahamas Maritime Authority.

Management in accordance with ISM guidelines is mandatory for commercial (charter) yachts of 500 GT (Gross Tons) or more; however many private yachts are now implementing ISM on a voluntary basis as it improves safety awareness onboard. In addition to ISM, Ariadne Yacht Management is certified and providing services according to the ISPS-Code; a worldwide security code for ports, yachts and management.

What is the ISM-Code?
The International Safety Management (ISM) Code has been introduced to the industry by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as a reaction to various accidents within the shipping/ yachting industry. The code introduces and implements procedures concerning safe onboard management and emergency procedures.
