Heesen Yachts is proud to announce the launching of motor yacht Celestial Hope yard number 14247. On Friday October 17th 2008 Celestial Hope was launched at the Heesen shipyard. The interior, designed by design studio Intarya, is set on a contemporary well detailed interior, finished of with luxurious fabrics, furniture and decoration. 
Saturday, October 18th Perini Navi launched SY Baracuda, a 50m aluminium ketch. Designed by Perini Navi’s in-house team together with Ron Holland, SY Baracuda features many important project innovations. The aluminium hull is marked by an aggressive, aerodynamic line, emphasised by an unconventional colour: metallic grey with shades of gold. 
Following the launch of the 56 metre M/Y Romance and only a week after the launch of the 43 metre M/Y Rubeccan, CRN launched the fifth vessel of the CRN 128’ composite line: Lady Belmor. The planning superyacht, was placed in the water on October 25th during a private ceremony for the owner and his family. 
If a name of a yacht could fit an occasion then that name would surely be the 58m / 190.4’ sailing yacht Ethereal; on a beautiful day in October, Bill & Shannon Joys’ mighty Ethereal literally hatched from a three year incubation emerging from her construction hall as the largest singular piece of yachting excellence to come out of Royal Huisman since Athena. 
Overflowing with style and character the Terranova 115 (LOA: 35.05m) is the latest and largest offering in a range of three luxury ‘Explorer Style’ yachts, designed by Barracuda Yacht Design and built at Terranova’s ultra-modern 8,000m² covered facility. The new 115 was officially introduced in October and joins her sister ships, the Terranova 85 and the 68. 
Last week the Lemwerder based shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen launched a new 78 metre superyacht. German superyacht photographer Ricardo Pilguj took the first photos of this blue hulled superyacht. Very little information is known at present; however the exterior lines of hull number 6479 are drawn by Reymond Langton Design. 
Baglietto is proud to announce the launch of hull No. C. 10201, a 58-metre aluminium superyacht, christened Viki. The naval architecture and exterior lines are designed by Gruppo Baglietto Engineering, the inhouse naval engineering centre that provides the shipyards of the Group with expertise in naval engineering, design and research and development. 
This morning the first Feadship XL left the De Vries Makkum facility. The 75.75-meter (248’6”) Ocean Victory was christened on 18 October 2008 in the presence of hundreds of invited guests. Designed by Alberto Pinto and Laura Sessa, the interior accommodates 14 people in the highest degree of comfort and style. 
CRN is proud to announce another launch following the spectacular 60-metre MS event just over a month ago. On Saturday the 18th October, during a private ceremony for the owner, his guests and the shipyard staff, CRN launched Rubeccan. She is the third hull to be completed in the highly successful CRN 43 composite line of vessels. 
This morning the second Feadship SL 39, Kathleen Anne, was christened at the Royal De Vries shipyard. Although Kathleen Anne and the first Feadship SL39, Ocean Mercury, are sisterships there are many differences between them. The exterior lines of Kathleen Anne, were drawn by Guido de Groot and Bannenberg was responsible for the interior. 
The Makkum yard of Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw, which opened in 2005, has completed its first full custom Feadship. The 75.75-meter (248’6”) Ocean Victory was launched on 18 October 2008 in the presence of hundreds of invited guests and following a spectacular laser show. The yacht will leave the ‘cathedral’ in Makkum shortly. 
Thursday 14 August 2008 saw the launch of the much anticipated 79m Lürssen Mad Summer (project Bermuda) and as of today the Espen Oeino designed yacht started her sea trials in the Baltic Sea. This morning superyacht photographer Carl Groll followed the yacht in the Baltic Sea from the air and took the following photos of Mad Summer. 
On monday Moonen launched Sofia, the second Moonen 97. The first Moonen 97, Darsea, was launched earlier this year by the Dutch yard. Though the two Moonen 97 are “sisterships,” they are far from “identical twins,” each being highly customized by their clients. The Moonen 97 is a prime example of how Moonen teams up with the initial client. 
Australian superyacht builder Oceanfast has launched the first of its new range of yacht - the 36 metre Eendracht, soon to be followed by a 48 metre currently under construction. Her owner – Austal founder John Rothwell - hopes to spend several months each year onboard Eendracht after stepping down from the day-to-day running of the business. 
In Greek mythology, Nereids are sea nymphs, friendly and helpful towards sailors. They are the fifty daughters of Nereus and Doris, who often accompany Poseidon. Nereids is also the builder of luxurious yachts in Turkey, who recently launched Arethusa, one of the 50 Nereids. Arethusa is a 47.08m motoryacht, measuring in just under 500 grt. 
Alloy Yachts has launched its latest superyacht, the 52m (170ft) flybridge ketch, Mondango, built for an international businessman and his wife. Mondango is a Dubois Naval Architects design. The hull, which is finished in Majestic Blue, is similar to the recent Red Dragon, but the ketch configuration makes the yacht distinctive. 
CRN celebrated the baptism of its new steel and aluminium jewel, the splendid 60m superyacht MS, with a spectacular ceremony, followed by an exclusive party for 600 select guests. The Middle Eastern owned MS, a fully customised displacement superyacht, is a result of the joint efforts of the CRN technical staff and Zuccon International Project.
