Organizers are charging forward with the 10th year celebration of the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous to be held December 16-18, 2010 in Phuket, Thailand. Bringing together both motor and sail Superyachts, once again an outstanding flotilla of power and sailing Superyachts will stream into Phuket just prior to the Christmas holidays in famed Phuket. 
“Never has it been more important for all in this industry to be working together with transparency and shared goals than it is today.” The words of YPI’s Eric Althaus during the first YPI ‘Brokers’ Meeting’ held on Tuesday 29 June in the prestigious surrounds of the Monaco Yacht Club. A specially invited group of around twenty brokers and industry representatives. 
Guests and friends met at the Yacht Club de Monaco this morning to bid each other farewell at the conclusion of The Rendezvous in Monaco, organized from 24th to 27th of June 2010 by Boat International Media in collaboration with SYBAss. 15 superyachts (from 39 to 75 meters, a combined length overall of nearly 700 metres) participated. 
Whilst the daily activities of Vripack consist of designing and engineering interiors and exteriors of luxury yachts, Vripack decided to take a dive into the innovative waters of alternative propulsion by use of Solar Energy. The pinnacle of this state-of-the-art research and development project will be the 2010 Frisian Solar Challenge. 
During the UCINA – SATEC’s annual meeting, the “Boating Pioneer 2010” award was awarded to Gianni Zuccon. UCINA presents this annual award to an individual within the recreational boating and yachting sector for their leadership and contribution to the global growth and development. 
The Sanlorenzo SD122 FX has won the prestigious international World Superyacht Awards as best semi-displacement or planning motor yacht 30m – 39m. The yacht was selected by a qualified panel of international judges composed by superyacht owners. The award was given in London on Saturday the 22nd of May 2010 
Heesen Yachts is proud to announce that on May 22nd in London’s Guildhall their yachts Celestial Hope and Blind Date were each awarded with a Neptune trophy, the highest recognition a yacht builder could hope to receive. The 47-metre Celestial Hope wins the ‘Semi-displacement or Planing Motor Yacht of over 40-metre Length’ category. 
Vicem Yachts went first class for its first-ever rendezvous event as a fleet of twelve yachts carrying 75 guests converged on the Old Bahama Bay Luxury Oceanfront Resort on Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas, April 1 – 4, 2010. The fun kicked off on the four-day Vicem VIP Rendezvous with a welcome reception and “Yacht Hop”. 
Oceanco’s Vibrant Curiosity was awarded Best Custom-Built Yacht (150ft and up) by Asia Boating Awards during a ceremonial gala at the Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club in Hong Kong on May 8, 2010. The yacht has environmentally-conscious features such as a sea monitoring system that is an integral part of Oceanco’s philosophy. 
Alastair Callender, of UK based Callender Designs, has won the Sustainable Category in the esteemed Condé Nast Traveller's Innovation & Design Awards 2010. On Monday 10th May 2010, Alastair Callender was voted as the winner of the category to reward sustainability, with his Soliloquy eco-superyacht concept. 
On Friday 7th May Yachting Pages welcomed around 900 guests to the 3rd annual Yachting Pages Black and White Lounge. The event, which was open to captains and superyacht industry professionals, took place on the Quai des Milliardaires, Antibes. Providing a stunning backdrop to the event were some of the most impressive superyachts. 
The Florida Yacht Brokers Association Board of Directors recently elected the 2010 Officers at a meeting held in March. Elected to serve President was Crom Littlejohn of Merle Wood & Associates; elected to serve as Vice President was Lon McCloskey of The Marine Group; elected to serve as Secretary was Gary Smith of Sarasota Yacht & Ship. 
On 8-9 March 2010, the Newport Harbor Corporation (NHC)—the creator and producer of the Newport Yachting & Lifestyle Collection—hosted a “Founders Forum” that included a cross section of the superyacht industry’s most highly regarded leaders from brokers and builders to charter firms and marketers. 
Last year, the German luxury yacht manufacturer Drettmann’s Open Yacht Days were a huge success. Based on the motto “Please Touch!” the first round of this innovative marketing strategy got underway in 2009 – and due to the large demand, was even expanded to Majorca. The concept behind the Open Yacht Days is reflected in the name. 
The Abu Dhabi Yacht Show Golf Classic took place yesterday, meticulously organised by Ken Jamieson, Chief Xperience Officer and Group Director of IIR Middle East, who welcomed approximately 50 people to play on this most spectacular of golf courses, designed by the legendary South African, Gary Player. 
The baptism of Alexia Barrier's 4myplanet took place on Saturday, two days before her lunchtime departure on Monday 11 January from Monaco on a Scientific World Solo Tour to share information on the worsening condition of the global environmental. The heavens rained as the boat was blessed and – eventually – was doused in Champagne. 
The recent Pinmar Yachtsman's Golf Tournament at the Son Quint Golf Course in Mallorca, co-sponsored by Awlgrip, was once again organised by Pinmar Yacht Painting Systems in aid of raising vital funds for charity. The event continues to receive an overwhelming level of support from the superyacht industry and raised over 37,000 Euros. 
The Navetta 33, the flagship of Ferretti Custom Line semi-displacement line, won the Showboats International Award on the category “Best New Motor Yacht Series Under 40 Meters”. The Navetta 33 is the result of the nautical experience of Chairman Norberto Ferretti who inspired and supervised the project from the very beginning. 
Last month, we were invited by Yachts magazine, to the World Yachts Trophies event and yachts parade. The event was held during the Cannes International Boat Show. During the event, Yachts Magazine celebrated innovation and great design. The jury voted for winners after a pre-selection of about 10 yachts in the various categories. 
The beautiful gardens of the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel, with the 51 metre schooner Meteor resting at anchor in the bay below, provided a magnificent setting for guests arriving at Royal Huisman’s 125th anniversary celebrations in Monaco on September 23rd. Alice Huisman took centre stage to greet guests. 
The cities of Barcelona and New York, through the Fundació Navegació Oceànica Barcelona (FNOB) and the New York City Sports Commission, announced today a new transoceanic sailing event to take place in April 2010, the NY-BCN Transoceanic Sailing Record. Aimed at strengthening the sporting and cultural bonds between New York and Barcelona. 
Vilanova Grand Marina – Barcelona, the first marina in the Mediterranean specialising in superyachts, sponsored the ninth edition of the Captains Dinner and Awards, promoted by Fraser Yacht, celebrated last 24th September, at the Monaco Yacht Club. This event is an annual meeting for captains and crews of prestigious yachts. 
In 2010, superyacht builder Lürssen will once again be releasing a superyacht calendar, featuring stunning photos of their fleet of superyachts. This year, the yard is asking the yachting community to send it their best shots of Lürssen yachts around the globe. Entries should be submitted no later than October 1st 2009. 
This photo shows the meeting with the last boat delivered by JFA Shipyard, Hortense a 90’ Motor Sailer and the 60’ Imoca Veolia Environnement of Roland Jourdain just before his departure to Istanbul. Built to Lloyds class and MCA compliant, the aluminium hull and type of engines are usually only found on motor yachts, but Hortense is a true sailing yacht. 
Alloy Yachts has announced that their entire team is elated at the announcement that Mondango and Allogante have been selected as finalists for the 2009 International Superyacht Society Design Awards. The seven ISS award categories honour the best designs of nominated yachts of 75 feet or greater in length. 
Last month, Sanlorenzo and Bluegame were the official partners at the members’ annual dinner of the prestigious Yacht Club of Parma, that have inaugurated the beginning of the summer and the nautical season of the shipowners of Parma with an elegant dinner, In the exclusive setting of Villa Pallavicini, stunning villa of the eighteenth century. 
Moonen has announced that its 30.00-metre Moonen 97 Darsea, has been chosen by a select group of superyacht-owning judges as a World Superyacht Award 2009 finalist. Darsea was apparently chosen because she is a prime example of how Moonen teams up with a new client to produce a unique model that also attracts many others. 
Gulf Craft, in association with the Arab Marine Industries Association (AMIA), recently honored Mr. Abdul-Rahman Adib, Project Director of the Messe Dusseldorf Boat Show who has recently retired after 40 years of relentless service. Mr. Adib has been instrumental in steering the development of the Arab marine industries. 
Northrop and Johnson Charter Collection has announced that Destination Fox Harb'r Too, a 161’ Trinity 2008, has been nominated for an award at the World Superyacht Awards. Destination Fox Harb'r Too is a nominee for “Best Semi-displacement or Planing Motor Yacht in the 40m+ size range” Award. 
Fraser Yachts celebrated the Art of Bespoke Design in style last month in conjunction with Garrard, the oldest jeweller in the world at their flagship store in Mayfair, London. Both brands are proud of a heritage that dates back many years. Fraser Yachts and Garrard base their brands on tradition and innovation, and both are worldwide. 
During the Awards Gala, at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, Vitters Shipyard’s latest launch Nirvana won the International Superyacht Society Design Award in the category “Best sailing yacht above 40m“. The winning yachts represent the very finest naval architecture, design, interiors and craftsmanship within the superyacht industry.
