Danish Yacht appoints Art-Line as interior designer for 38m dayboat
Danish Yacht is pleased to announce the appointment of Art-Line from the Netherlands as the interior designers of their new build 116. This new 38 metre dayboat has been designed to be the fastest twin diesel jet powered superyacht in the world, with an expected top speed in excess of 50 knots. It is therefore vital that the interior is designed for weight saving to maintain the speed predictions evaluated from tank testing in Gothenburg at the end of 2007.
Art-Line join this exciting project, with a wealth of experience in the fast yacht area and really understand what is needed from the delicate balance of weight saving versus a luxurious and attractive, yet functional interior.
The two chief designers at Art-Line, Frank Pieterse and Marilyn Bos-de Vaal bring their knowledge and passion for contemporary art and architecture, with more than twenty years’ experience in technical yacht design. Every area is carefully designed to the required weight with its functional purpose, at the same time providing an exquisite finish expected in the modern superyacht market.
Jonathan McDonnell of Danish Yacht said, “We are very happy to be working with Frank and Marilyn of Art-Line. From the designers that we prospected for this project, they were the best qualified for the fine balance we briefed. We really look forward to their input into this pioneering new build project.”
Managing Director Per Hesselbaek added, “It’s a real boost for the project to have Art-Line’s experience and knowledge. They have a proven track record in creating the most awe-inspiring interiors for some of the most exciting superyachts in the world.”
