Patrick Knowles Designs expands

Patrick Knowles Designs has purchased the property adjacent to its current office location on Northeast 18th Street in Fort Lauderdale and is reconfiguring the new space to double the size of its offices.

“With our current portfolio of megayacht interior design projects stretching through 2010, and a healthy flow of potential new projects coming our way, the time was right to expand our space,” said company President Patrick Knowles.

The new building will house an expanded CAD (Computer-Aided Design) department, staff offices, and archive and storage areas. The firm expects to occupy the new space by this summer.

The current Patrick Knowles Designs project portfolio includes megayachts under construction in the U.S. and Europe, ranging in size from 140’ to more than 200’ in length. In April the firm will complete work on two of them: The interior of the motoryacht Inevitable, a 164’ Feadship rebuild from the Feadship yard in Makkum, Holland, and the interior of the motoryacht Destination Fox Harb’r Too, a 161’ Trinity new-build from the Trinity yard in Gulfport, Mississippi.

The firm’s most recently delivered project, the interior of the 164’ Trinity yacht Mine Games, has been nominated for the 2008 ShowBoats International awards in two categories: Best Motor Yacht Interior and Best Semi-Displacement Motor Yacht Over 40 Meters.
